Could someone help me out?

Hey PetCo is selling halfmoon bettas. The ones that are labeled as males look small like femals can you show me a picture of what a baby male halfmoon looks like. I am hoping their halfmoons are just young.

Thanks.

I think a female fish would have an egg spot.

Its called an ovipositor tube, where the eggs come out when they spawn. Its between the anal fin and ventral (front) fins. Its white.

Do young halfmoon males look like full grown females?

I just looked at some pictures and it looks like young half moons have fuller tails than full grown females.

Thank you. I hope I was able to help with the halfmoon questions. I don't really know too much about them. I've only seen one in person and that one belonged to a neighbor of a friend of mine. She ended up killing it because she washed his bowl with soap.
