Homemade Tank Stands

Currently I have my 6.6g Bookshelf tank on top of my entertainment center.

It's a pretty cheaply made piece of furniture, and I'd like to have something sturdier.

Has anyone repurposed an old dresser or another piece of furniture into a multi tank stand? I want something that can hold my 6.6g, and some 2.5 gallon hospital tanks.

Thoughts?
I was thinking of modifying something like this:

I used to put them right on top of the dresser with clothes in it. And one of ours is on our computer desk, more of them are on a bookcase
