Exclamation Tumor-like growth - need diagnosis!

Hello,

I have had my wild-type betta for 6 months or so, and she just developed a lack of appetite along with general lethargy. I took her out of her hiding place today and inspected her, and I found a tumor-like protrusion from between her two pectoral fins in front. Its yellowish and has a little bit of stringy material around it, but not a substantial amount. She also has what looks like a small injury on her forehead - it looks like one scale is missing. After reading through posts and websites, it seems like the best course of treatment is 1) isolation 2) salt 3) clean water and 4) broad spectrum antibiotic. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be, or an alternative course of action they'd recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Has anyone else had experience with something like this? I haven't, so I'm not in a position to offer advice.....although, in the absence of one of our resident experts, I'd say the course of action you mentioned in your first comment would be the way to go until someone with more knowledge sees this and gives you some better advice. Sorry I can't help more.....
