Newest addition, and he's a marble!

So, the betta bug bit me again and I'm now the proud owner of betta #8! Starting to think I'm more than a little obsessed now.

Anyways, this little guy was bought on Tuesday since it was my day off, and when I bought him he was a pure white boy. Ever since he's been brought home, he's started to gain some colours and I'm pretty sure now that he's probably a marble!! You can't see it in the pics, but there's a little bit of pink colouring spreading from his head down a little of his body and there's a couple of blue spots appearing on his anal and caudal fins. He's very cute, inquisitive, and simply loves my camera! I really wasn't expecting to get another betta, but my LPS had only a few little guys left and this one just kept looking at me while all the others were dying. >.<; As such, he is in a 1 gallon tank for now, but I'm hoping to upgrade him to something a little bigger in the future.

Hope you guys love this little cutie as much as I do.

This one is from today!!

This one and the next one are from a couple of days ago!

Oh, he's very pretty! Looks really "pink" in the pics! I think he's wonderful!

Marble or not, a lot of fish are washed out and pale due to stress, and will color up as they regain health and become comfortable. Usually white or flesh tones on the head will indicate marbles. (like the fleshy colored spot on his lip)

Either way, he's very beautiful, and a very lucky fellow to have a wonderful home with you!

True. I bought Marty because I thought he was a marble VT but after a few days he colored up. His eyes reminded me of Marty Feldman but not anymore. The name stuck.

Marty day one, notice the silver around his eyes and the big white spots on his body. Marty now with silver eyes and white spot all colored in.

Gorgeous fish.
I'm in love with marbles but nervous at how their colors change. Would love to see this guy after a bit of time has passed. :)

Absolutely stunning! And hey- #8 isn't so bad! Just wait until you're thinking of a 12th female and a 3rd male to add on to your amount of 13 Bettas ;)
