New Male Betta fish

I just got my betta a few days ago. He is in Marina Betta tank (1/2 gal). I just would like a few suggestions with the regard of caring for him.

There is a sticky at the top of the page that outlines what you need to do to have a happy betta. I will tell you one thing, that tank is way to small. 2.5 gallons is the recomended smallest tank, with 5 gallons being the preferred size.

i preffer 2or more gallons for a betta fish, it gives them more room and you can keep the temp stable when the tank is bigger. they like caves, silk and live plants, and stable warm water (75-82 degrees, most people seem to prefer around 78 degrees) you need to dechlorinate your water if its nto well water and all water needs to be contitioned. conditioner is not expensive and it lasts a long time.
