Pic: First attempt at nano NPT

I'm getting my first Aquabid betta in from Taiwan next week, and I decided to try my Fluval Chi as an NPT for him. I know that the Chi won't have enough light on its own for these plants to make it, but the tank will get some natural sunlight on my desk, and I'll buy an extra lamp if needed, too.

It's still a little cloudy here, because I just set it up today. It should hopefully clear up soon, though.

The tank has been up for a week now. I checked the water parameters today, and I have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 10 nitrates. :)

Thank you! Unfortunately, I dosed this tank with Tetracycline, according to the betta exporter's instructions, but didn't realize I needed to keep it out of the sunlight if I did so. The water turned pinkish brown. :-/ Then I tried to change the water, didn't pour slowly enough, and muddied the whole thing up. Sigh.

On the plus side, I have fantastic clay soil in my backwoods, which I didn't realize when I planted this tank, for which I actually used a soil that's not recommended. So now I'm going to dig up some good clay, tear it all down, and hope I can get the planting as pretty as I had it before! Wish me luck!
