Is She Getting Better?

So after a few weeks of regular water changes of 50% and AQ salt added each time I think my girl is healing from ammonia poisoning.

Before her gills and fins were really red and her eyes were inflamed. Right now however it isn't red anymore. Its more like turned back to her normal color.

She has always been active and eating like a pig, even through her ordeal of ammonia poisoning.

I have been doing a water change when the ammonia goes pass 0.5 with Prime, conditioner, and now Tetra Safe Start.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like you're doing everything right. If shes eating and active then that's always a good sign!

Glad to hear that she's healing!

How long have you been using the aquarium salt? It's not recommended to use this for a long time, since it can cause stress on the kidneys and lead to fluid retention. If it's been more than 10-14 days, I would stop using it.

Just keep up with the water changes. Many problems, like ammonia poisoning, can be cured/treated with just lots of clean, warm water.

Its been more than 14 days but I am stopping it and so far she has been her curious self just exploring the tank. She always stops and opens her mouth like shes asking for food when she sees me lol
