Also look into the tubs.. some are not meant to hold live animals/food in as it releases different toxins.

As a general rule - food safe is fish safe. Here is a little info on making sure what you get is safe for the fish. Double check the ones you are looking at.

not sure if the toxins release when water is added but we been keeping snakes in racks for years with iris and steralite tubes.

I think the "steral" part of steralite is suppose to insinuate clean storage. As in "sterile".

Sterilite and rubbermaid tend to be the most recommended. But always worth a quick check on the numbers for safety.

The tubs are one thing, but it is the big outdoor garbage cans that I believe that was referenced which is what I am talking about checking into.. but the bins you buy for storage (by those brands) are normally fine..
