Does Gidget Look Like a Male or Female?

Need a little help with a girl in my sorority. She recently grew quite a bit & started making bubble nests that she guards. The bubble nest guarding has kicked up some aggression amongst the girls. I also cupped her & floated her in my male VT's tank to see their reaction. They both flared at each other (they have the same size beard) & were agressive. I can still see her egg spot, but wanted to get others opinions. Does she look male or female to you?

I am almost 100% certain that that is a male... His fins alone are a dead giveaway, but your description of his behavior just makes me more certain. You will have to get him another tank, he should definatly not be in the sorority.

Females flare and build bubble nests too, so that behavior is not always a tell-tale sign. Some girls are super aggressive.

What I see right now is making me lean towards male though (that sort of finnage says male plakat).

Looks like a young long finned male to me, I bet his fins will grow more. Could you possibly get a better side view?

Thank you everyone for helping me out. I'm planning on putting him/her in a hospital tank tonight just in case. Here are more pics (I have to upload them one comment at a time from my iPad) I just took to help figure this out.

I think he/she is gender confused. It looks male, but also female
