post some pictures. its much easier to tell whats wrong with a fish that way.

are his scales sticking out all pinecone-ish?
does he eat?
does he expel waste?

what is your tank size?
is it heated and filtered?
what is your water chaning schedual?
and can you give us the water parameters?

how is his behavior? does he swim, is he active, does he eat and poop well?

My fish tank is about a gallon to a gallon and a half. he is not active. doesnt seem to want to eat as much. change his water and clean his tank about every 7-10 days. dont know about the pooping. and he seems to be staying at the bottom, otherwise when he goes to the top, he makes bubbles.

Yep gonna need that other information and of course a pic would be great, although it does sound to me that he does have a tumour, these fish are unfortunetly prone to them, they seem like white balls that just grow bigger, but lets not panic until you give us all the information and the pics,
When you said you clean his tank every 7-10 days, you don't clean it completely do you? because you should only be changing 25% of the water and making sure you clean the filter only when neccessary and in the water you have taken out of his tank for the water change, that way you keep all the good bacteria in the tank, and you keep your fish happy and healthy

1 1/2 gallon tank should be cleaned partially every other day, or two full changes a week. For such small critter they build up a good amount of ammonia very quickly.

Well 2 things...

1. Why does it seem that everyone names their fish Sushi? Just curious because that's what I named mine too!

and

2. I'm sorry for your loss. I love my Sushi like a best friend (at times I think he IS my best friend). I know it's hard to lose a pet. Don't be sad though, while Sushi may never be replaced, a new betta might be just what you need!
