I am going to get a betta, ADF's, dwarf bristlenose pleco, dwarf cories, and kuhli loaches in my 25 gallon tank. And I've also seen good reviews for Eco-Complete!

So you're still getting the Red Cherry Shrimp even though you were warned putting them in with ADFs means certain death for the poor shrimp?

Oh, well.

Actually, I read on many websites that ADF's are very slow hunters, and have the same likelihood to eat the cherry shrimp as the betta. Hundreds of people have said that they can peacefully coexist.

Ghost shrimp on the other hand are a problem because they are smaller.

Ghost Shrimp are *not* smaller than RCS. Ghosties get up to 2" and RCS only reach 1". Where did you get your information that Ghosties are smaller and that RCS are okay with ADFs? Please post links.

BTW, Amano shrimp would probably be okay. They get up to 3".

I am not here to argue RussellTheShihTzu. I have kept ADF's with cherry shrimp and another time with ghost shrimp before in an 8 gallon tank. From my experience, my cherry shrimp were smaller than the ghost shrimp I had. Cherry shrimp are also preferable for me because of their hardiness. On the other hand,

I agree there is a risk of it but then again, it is a heavily planted tank with driftwood and lots of hiding places for the ADF's. With proper feeding, they most likely will not feed on the shrimp in a tank of that size :)

I'll look into Amano or Bamboo Shrimp too. Keep in mind its a 25 gallon tank, so how many of these shrimp could i have in them?

I might have to reconsider the Kuhli Loaches because I know they feed on invertebrates. What do you think about that?

Maybe you had baby Ghosties? The Amano shrimp would be much better algae cleaners which is why I mentioned them. I also like Oto cats (Otocinclus). Have you seen them? A lot of people keep them with Bettas. You do need several but they are really spiffy.

The Planted Tank invertebrate form says Bamboo shrimp are difficult because they are filter feeders (I had to look that up). Amanos are a piece of cake.

Every tank species is different. My Betta Si completely ignores my RCS; Willie would eat them they weren't too big (most are at least 1/2"). On the other hand, Si follows the Assassin snails around like a Bloodhound while Willie couldn't care less and completely ignores them.

I do know it took the shrimp quite a while to live freely with a predator. I barely saw them for two weeks except at feeding time; now they are out all of the time.

Sorry if I seem argumentative; rereading my post I did come across that way. So I apologize.
