If you post up a pic on which everybody can see something , you might get help.

Are you sure he is not just marbling? If nothing else seems to be wrong, he could be going through a normal colour change.

Can you get clearer pictures of the fins?

Yup as Feng said, some Betta's turn colors through most of their life and sometimes it can happen pretty quickly. But a clearer picture will definitely help.

Also getting him so good food will help as well, New Life Spectrum Betta Pellets and Omega One Betta Pellets are great. Both have all the nutrients that they need. Also you can feed him a little more than two pellets at each feeding. I feed mine once a day usually, except Saturday they get two feedings before fasting, and I usually give each about 6 or when I see their tummies JUST starting to get full, not bloated or anything, but you can see them just slightly getting round. And then they don't get fed for another 24 hours or until they slimmed down again and poo.

Also I would stop the Aquarium Salt until we know exactly what's going on, just don't want to stress him out any further :)

I don't know how everyone gets such clear pictures? My fish is constantly moving and he never stays still. Do you use digital cameras? And my pet store told me to get the betta bites. Can you get any of those two from petsmart or petland? I know he's acting normal but it just doesn't seem right to me.

Usually it's bad to take advice from a Pet store, but it's okay because most of us here all made mistakes and stuff and we learn from them :)

My PetSmart and PetCo both carry Omega One and I had to get NLS from an online store, but you should be able to get one or the other from your store.

Also yes, I do use a digital camera and just take lots and lots of pictures lol and then I have to sort through them to see which ones came out clear. You could also try to feed him and while he's eating, snap a picture.

I empathize on the pictures thing. I take a thousand pictures, in hopes of getting a decent one. And usually, I'm not happy with even that one!

Can you put a small mirror on the side of his tank, so that he flares at it?

This will keep him in place for a few minutes and hopefully let you get a picture with a good view of his fins.

I'd suggest taking a few pictures with the flash, and a few without.

Then, remove the mirror, sort through the pictures, and hopefully, you'll have a few good ones.

I especially would like to see the dorsal color change, and hopefully, we'll be able to get a view of those black specs.....
