Are you going to use a Quarantine tank or just in the one he has now? If you do the 3.5, take a cup and scoop him out (make sure it's never seen soap. I use brand new plastic ware) and then either siphon out the tank, get between the rocks/gravel and all. Then add in the new water with the same amount of salt you took out, so if you did a full change then add in 7 teaspoons of salt again.

I do have a 0.5 gallon tank. I'm not sure what would be best. I read 100% daily water changes?

Yeah the 100% are probably best. To keep him warm you can either move the heater over or float him in his 3.5 in the .5 gallon to treat him and so that he has semi-familiar surroundings.

It also makes the dosage easier, 1 teaspoons as opposed to 7 :) and as far as tea, I'm not sure what brand just as long as it's 100% pure green tea, no caffeine or additives to it.
