Has anyone ever seen something like this?

I saw this guy (nicknamed Gimpy for now, for obvious reasons) at Petco about 2 weeks ago. I passed him up, but couldn't stop thinking about him, so went and got him the next day. I felt bad because he is kind of handicapped/odd, and I was wondering if he'd get adopted at all.

He was listed as a Delta Tail Male, and he has one EE fin and one normal (?) fin. His colors are beautiful and I love the red mask on the top of his head. He is very active and swims normally. He is in one side of my planted/heated/filtered divided 10g, and is happy as can be. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

I have a video, but have no idea how to download it here. It is very hard to get the detail in a still picture. The pic below is the best one I could get. You can clearly see his large EE fin on the right, and his little 'red' fin on the left side of the picture.

That was really nice of you to go back to get him. I have a soft heart for petsmart fish too...I see they have too many and after a few days they look ill..then I buy the saddest looking one.

Video!

I don't consider myself YouTube friendly, so I hope this works!

This is Gimpy - in all his odd (but beautiful) glory! :)

THANK YOU! He has really grown on me, and he is absolutely thriving! He was so "darty" and stressed when I got him, but now he is calm and very social. I swear his coloring gets better and brighter every day. I don't think his fin is a growth issue, it actually looks like he is half and half. :)

He is a beautiful boy..

BUT, Gimpy is a bit harsh... You say he has a patch of red on his head that looks like a mask, why not name him Zoro or Phantom??

Backlash - Thanks! LOL! Gimpy was only a temporary nickname. I was actually thinking of Oscar, as Os means mask in latin. :)
