Incandescent Light and Java Fern?

I was wondering if an incandescent light could keep a java fern alive. I was looking to put a live plant and snail in my 5 gal. betta tank. The light stays on for about 12 hours a day. I know that some plants need special lighting so I wasn't sure if my current light would work. Thanks for your help! :)

Java ferns are near indestructible lol. As long as you get even a bit of sunlight they will be fine.

Thanks for the info! My tank gets a lot of indirect sunlight (equals a LOT of algae) so the fern should be fine.
