what size of tank is best for a betta????

The bigger the better. 2.5 gallons is really a minimum. The bigger the tank, the happier the fish will be and you'll have an easier time maintaining a healthy environment. In my experience, the small 2.5 to 5 gallon kits they sell at pet stores generally cost the same as setting up a standard 5.5 gallon or even 10 gallon tank.

ya betta like space like other fish.
but the 5 gallon tanks will allow you to add tank mates like shrimp.
if you get 10 gallon you can get acctually fish tank mates (if your betta allows it that is)
