Best temperature when medicating fish?

Hi, I'm medicating my betta and have read that it's best to turn the heater down slightly because bacteria grow faster in higher temperatures. Anyone know what the best temperature would be without it being too low and stressing him out?

Septeciemia I think? Red streaks in his tail. He's on medication now.
