OH NO HELP

So I was cleaning my fish's tank today and when I transfered him to another bowl he jumped out of the net...and fell...over 4 feet. Flop...laying still on the floor. I picked him up quickly and placed him in the tank. He didn't move (as I would have expected)...and then i noticed his gills moving. Long story short he is back in his big tank and swimming around but he is staying very low basically sitting on the rocks.

What do you think is hurt and is there any way I could possibly fix it.

Also...is he doomed if it is something like a broken rib?

Its hard to say, all you can do is make sure your water stats are good and hope he makes it.

Can you post tank size and water parameters? Did you do a 100% water change?

Yeah, just keep his water clean and keep an eye on him. My rescue betta's bowl was knocked over by my cousin's cat before I got him and he's still alive and doing well. Its been 9 months since this happened, but he suffered damage to his swimbladder and floats on his side a lot. He eats good, tho and blows bubbles.

Curious too as what the tank size is / cleaning routine. Transferring might not be necessary.
