I got an early Birthday gift!!!

My dear dear husband, who was way against my wanting one betta...let alone 1 Betta in a 2 gal tank and starting another 10 gallon tank which now has 3 neons 4 guppies and 2 Mickey Mouse Platys , surprised me early (the birthday is Thursday) by saying he was going to get me a halfmoon and wanted me to pick it out with him today .

We went to PetCo, and looked to see if Mr Pretty Yellow Man (see coveting a halfmoon post) was there. Nope. In fact, most of the Halfmoons were bought already, and most of the others (including the crown, delta and viel tails) seemed to be in bad shape, which shocked me and saddened me to see that the water had not been changed in their cups in days . BUT...there was a PINK Halfmoon that was just SO sweet and in great shape, that he came home with us !!! His name is Mohinder. 8)

We got him an eclipse 3 system (3 gallon tank with filter and biowheel) and made space next to Ernesto. It is placed in such a way that they cannot see each other at all. I have it set up and running. In the meantime, I have him in a little .75 gallon habitat (used only for emergency water changes/sickness) with a small amount of gravel so not to see his reflection on the bottom, and tiny plant in there for him to hide. I figure I will put him in the new tank later this week. I know, cycle cycle cycle...but this was an utter surprise, and HE WAS TOO PRETTY not to get, and I want him out of his little habitat as soon as possible.

Anywho...when I get photos of both (keep in mind that Ernesto is still way way healing)...I will post.

Happy early birthday. My girlfriend got a pink veiltail (I know they're a bit of the low class category) but she fell in love with it (it being pink didn't hurt) and so we got it. I can't wait to see pics so I can show em to her also.
