mangled fins

My boyfriend's friends put a betta fish in the tank in an attempt to feed it to the fish, but all they did was bite at the poor things fins and it's still alive but its fins are badly mangled. I was outside when they did this and would have stopped it. I'm just wondering if there is a chance that the betta will live and if its fins can regenerate again after this or if it's going to be permanently damaged. Just wondering if anyone had a situation where their bettas fought eachother and their fins were torn, but they still were alive.

this has happened to me before with my fish. Try giving it some Betta fix And dose it ever once in a while. his fins should grow back though

is your fish still happy and active? hope he didnt get stressed or shocked from the abuse.
make sure your water parameters are perfect to speed up the healing.
