Unhappy Giving up

I feel like giving up on the aquarium hobby. I had to throw away the filter bag since it was literally falling apart and when I put it in, it affected everything. I lost two cories, and Wintergreen is hanging on for dear life

That's very sad! Don't give up, though - experiences like these suck, but they happen to everyone in the hobby. All you can do is learn from it, work to fix it and stay away from the product that caused the problem - and share your story so other people know too! :)

life is full of ups and downs which we must learn from and move forward. God knows I had my share of bad lucks.

You can give up now but let's face it, you'll be back sooner or later

Don't give up! We all make mistakes. It's how we learn.

I had a period where I loss several fish (4) all in 1 week from severe body rot (their faces literally fell off overnight - I to this day have no idea what happened) and I had to euthanize them all which in itself was traumatic. It took several years before I got back in to them. So I guess what I am trying to say is if you feel like taking a break it's understandable. They'll always be a new fish waiting for a home when you're ready again. :)

But either way you can't be too hard on yourself. Mistakes will happen and you will learn from them and improve upon things for your next fish.

I don't get how two of my cories died, and the other one is barely affected. He is sitting on the bottom, but isn't breathing heavy or anything.

Different parents/genetics/upbringing.

A few people can become Olympic athletes, while most others can train all night and day but still have no hope of ever gaining that same strength or coordination.

Maybe your one who seems unaffected is the Olympic athlete of the bunch.
