They were both kits. The first came with an "Aqua-Tech", but it can't restart itself if the power goes out so I can't trust it. The second is a "Tetra Whisper". It's tank is currently empty, but I don't like how much of a current it creates and I think the intake might be too strong for a betta. Plus, it takes up a lot of space.
I've heard a lot of good things about sponge filters and I think I want to switch to them. I've noticed that there is a number of types and I'm trying to decide which ones to get. I like the looks of the suction cup ones that stay near the surface because I can put them behind some tall plants.
Most of them don't have a marked tank size, though. So, I'm not really sure what to get. I found these on Amazon and I'm loving the price, but will they work? Do I need the double or is the single good enough for ten gallons?
I'm looking to run them both and potentially a third one at some point, on the same pump. I found this. It has great reviews, is apparently super quiet and claims to be able to run 7 devices.
I also need some check valves. How do these look? It's a great price and it can't hurt to have extras.
Wow... I can't believe I just typed all of that. Thanks to anyone who read it all xD
