No idea about it. I suggest the Stress Coat because it has aloe in it, and it doesn't look like the NutraFin does

I will do anything to help this guy. My last one died the day he was supposed to be moved into his new tank. No marks on him or anything. I had a tank ready and no fish so I ran back out and got this guy

Nutrafin Aqua Plus is water conditioner and wont help him get better. If it is some kind infection or wound clean water is extremely infection to prevent it from getting worse or to prevent one from starting.
Are the plants plastic?? Bettas can injure them selves quite badly on them. Replacing them with cloth plants can help and (in my opinion) look more natural and better.

edit: Did you cycle the new tank you put this guy in??

I am trying to find plants that are soft while still breaking the flow. I put him in a full 24 hours after starting the cycling process (the cycling drops were put in the three days it was recommended. He was in the tank when I put it in the third day) I bought a live plant last night to replace the pokey purple one (it poked him once and he left it alone) but the other plant he constantly swims through it.

He's been in the tank since the 13th and has been eating well and exploring his home. It took him a few days to get settled once I reduced the water flow but he's been fine. I agree with the plastic plants, I never wanted any but I did ask the pet store to look at them until I found others that would work.

Cycling process take weeks, not 24 hours. Any ammonia or nitrite in the tank is harmful to them. Live plants are probably one of the best things for fish as they keep the water clean and make it feel more natural. In my experience soft plants can still break the flow.

Even though he enjoys that plastic plant I have put a little bottle of filter foam over the out take. He can swim comfortably but am I damaging the filter buy reducing the flow?

No i don't believe it damages it. Some have a setting to reduce the flow (i know Aqua Clear does) maybe yours does too?

Here's what I have done. It's filter foam. I've cut slits in it in multiple places and placed it over the the part where the water comes out (damn fluval for making the current so strong). That gets ride of the plastic plant. I have one live plant and will get a silk plant when I go buy the stress coat. Is this doable? I'm really trying to keep this guy happy and healthy. And I really appreciate all your advice
