Lol thanks. Did it have a name when you bought it? It kind of looks like Mondo Grass which isn't fully aquatic so if you recognize that name, just watch out for it is all. Snip off any parts that start to rot and die and it should stay healthy :)

They didn't know the name of it. It does look like mondo grass but not the awesome black colour. I bought it in the pet store. I did some googling, can't remember the name but they had some in the pet store I went to today and they said its safe and low light. Perfect! Thanks for the tips. My head is hurting from all this fuss today ha ha

PS I sure appreciate this forum, I would be lost

Lol I still never trust stores though. Just keep an eye on it is all, it can rot quickly if it's not full aquatic so I just don't want it to ruin your water is all ^^

And Mondo grass isn't black, some can be black but it's generally just green.

You really can block the flow with a silk plant. Between that and the stress coat my boy is swimming up a storm. Thank you to all who chimed in, its appreciated

I can't believe how much better he's doing since I took out the plastic plant and use the stress coat. Thanks again for the great advice, I'm a betta amateur!
