I've just gotten some java moss to add to my delta tail's tank, and since I put it in yesterday, it seems he's gotten a mild case of fin rot. Could the moss have caused this? I also just got him a little stone cave, but I didn't put that in until I changed his water today, so he can't have scraped himself on that.

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? A quarter-inch portion of the top of his tail looks like a comb, and his dorsal fin looks pretty shredded.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? Not at all; he very much enjoys the moss I added; he swims through it, rests on it, hides in it, and generally seems happier now that he has it.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? This morning, approx. 18 hrs. after adding the moss
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Yes, immediately performed a water change and added 1 tsp. Aq. salt (should I take the moss out if I'm treating with salt?)
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Persistent fin rot for the first few months I had him and a bout of septicemia about a month ago, both beaten at the same time by a slightly concentrated dose of Jungle Fungus Cure
How old is your fish (approximately)? Got him from Petco in early November
