Betta fish has visitors????

I have had my Betta since July and occasionally i feed him daphina,
in the last couple of weeks i have noticed some suspicious bugs in the tank. They appear no bigger than grains of sand and are a beige/clear colour. They appear to be multiplying - thus meaning i am cleaning my tank more often. They dont particularly move fast they just bob about under the water. My Betta does not appear to be interested in eating them. Is there any way to get rid of these without effecting my Betta, who is starting to make bubble nests!

Can you give a better description of what these bugs look like? If I had to take a stab, I would guess that they are probably planaria, which are small flatworms. Usually their presence goes hand in hand with a tank that's being overfed. Cut back on your feeding and eventually they'll go away. They're harmless to your fish, though, so there are no immediate worries. Good luck!

I feed my fish twice a day with specialised pellets for Bettas. I wasnt sure if the bugs are water mites? my fish eats his pellets straight away i feed them to him almost by hand so they are only in the water for a matter of seconds. The bugs are so tiny its difficult to give anymore information they tend to sit either on the ornamounts or on the side of the glass i have noticed one on the fish but after i got him to swim through one of the plants it detached from him. is there anything i can put in the water to get rid of them if they are planaria. I dont know if it makes a difference but i do have sand in my tank instead of gravel, it was brough from a pet shop in a sealed bag and was washed thoroughly before the tank started to cycle.
