Glad you got him something bigger. I take it the 1.5g isn't filtered, so cycling wouldn't be an issue. Is his tank heated? Bettas need water that is kept at 78-80F since they are tropical fish. As the other poster stated, more frequent water changes will definitely help his health & should help his fins heal.w

It isn't heated since the smallest heater I could find was for 3 gallon and larger. I am hoping that since it is always really hot around here, that the tank will be around that temperature. I am hoping to find thermometer to check the temperature soon.

I was just able to check the temperature, and it is around 76-78F.

That's good so long as it stays no less than 76F on a consistent basis. 76F is on the low end but is much better than nothing.

I will try to check the temperature a few times a day to make sure it stays constant.

I checked my betta fish today, and I am worried since it seems like part of the caudal fin is coming off. Like a sliver of it has detached itself from the rest. It is between the anal fins and caudal fins. Is it something serious?
