Yes I'm in Texas (:
He seems to still be upset though. He's laying on the top of my plastic plant, just at the surface. He is still white in the face, and is still dull in color. I guess we we see how he is in the morning. Thank you guys for your help!!

It's so hard to tell without being in the room with your betta and really seeing how he's acting. Just let him rest and check on him tomorrow and post some new pictures if you can.

Hope he's feeling better tomorrow!

Well his tank is located in my room (: I will post pictures tomorrow morning or afternoon. I hope hes feeling better too!

However, I think that tank is cursed... Two bettas before him died too, but without any signs at all. Just like dropped dead within 2 weeks of having them. I just hope he survives this! He's so active, and extremely smart.

He is now leaning to the right side ever so lightly, and is clamped... and will now swim around.

Sometimes that can happen when you bring them home from the store.

Are you acclimating them when you put them in the tank? The best way is to float them in your water for 20 min then drip about a half cup of your tank water into his cup every 4-5 min until the cup is full, then dump half the water out and repeat till the cup is all filled up again. Then release him.

Having a heater should help too.

Another thing is, when you put a new fish in the tank the ammonia level will spike until the tank is cycled, so you have to be REALLY careful to check the water parameters and do lots of partial water changes for the first 4-6 weeks. That could be your problem right there.

Did any of the previous fish die from an illness and if so did you sanitize the tank before starting over with new filter media and all that?

All could be causes of the fish dying within the first two weeks or so.

I did acclimate them correctly.

I used boiling water on the tank, gravel, and plants.

Filter media was not changed out.

Sounds good!

I'd change the filter media also next time you get a new fish. You can use vinegar or a diluted bleach solution to clean the tank also.

He looks bloated to me like he might be getting dropsy. Does he look fatter or more bloated to you? If so start with epsom salt and get online and order Kanaplex by air as you will need it quickly.
