Tank Questions

Just the pH one. The stick-on thingy says 0.0 for ammonia, DESPITE said fish-guy being an idiot.

Me: My tester says 0 ammonia.
Him: Water in your town is extremely high in pH and has lots of ammonia.
Me: But, the tester says 0.0 exactly. The color doesn't even have any tint of green.
Him: Do you have plants in your water?
Me: Two Amazon Swords.
Him: Yeah, that's not enough. You need to get this. *hands something that I immediately put down*
Me: I'd rather not put in more than I should. I picked up some meds from Wal-Mart at 3 AM--
Him: Don't buy anything from Wal-Mart. They don't take care of their fish.

Then...

Me: I put in a tablespoon of Aquarium Salt...
Him: Bettas HATE salt. I would not put any more in there.
Me: Why not?
Him: They live in mud puddles, not the ocean.

6 AM update.

Albus got back into her area. Though, in his defense, she WAS taunting him. Now they're both stressed out and tipsy again. Suzette won't go below an inch, Albus tried to attack my hand when I was adjusting the divider. I don't think another switch will happen again for a while, not until their stress has lowered. Which gives me time to remake their divider, and probably lower their water. Going to fast them for a day or two, and hopefully their flotation issues will stop.

Also, pictures! It was tough trying to do the macro setting on my camera, which had no flash, and I have no tripod. Suzette purposely would move as soon as she saw my finger hit the button, thus blurring the image.

They are little stinkers aren't they. Hehe. Where did you get those cave type ornaments in your tank? The one on the left I mean.

Petco. I guess they're now selling a bunch of buddhist-style ornaments. My sister has a gigantic Buddha in her big tank (probably a 55 gal?). They also have little Japanese architecture things, like archways, lanterns, and temples that fit in betta bowls. With the small amount of rocks, it looks very "zen". Eventually, I'll weigh down the Amazon Swords and get some more plants so it's not so bare. :D
