My betta is not eating and just hides in the grass

I need some help. My betta use to swim all around but lately he just hides in the grass and is not eating. What can be causing this

can you please tell us more about your betta please.
size of his tank,temperature of the water,test kits results,
food you feed him,how often you clean his tank,do you use a
dechlorinator for the new water,do you replace the old water with
new ready warmed fresh water.
anything else in with him,when you bought him,is there a filter,and
if there is who do you clean it.
i know this is a lot of questions for you at this difficult time,but if you
can answer as much as possible,we hopefuly can help.

he is in a beta tank(square) has some plants, he is feed meaie worms, I clean his tank once a week, no filter, use a dechlorinator, water is warm. Its been the same for months

How warm, to you it may seem the same temperature but in actuality it could have raised enough to harm the fish or lowered with the same results without you realizing the difference. It is difficult to maintain temp in a small aquarium without the aid of heaters and thermometers.

You need to feed him something other than mealy worms. Feed him pellets or tropical flake food for his staple diet and feed frozen or freeze dried bloodworms or brine shrimp as once or twice a week treats.

Now he is not eating at all. Tried not to feed him for a few days. I have given him flakes,and he won't eat them at all. His water temp is about 70 is this too cold or to warm?

70 is way to cold, get it up to 78 degrees. I would suggest upgrading to a bigger tankw tih filter and heater that's appropriate for that size of the tank. A 5 gallon would be nice minimum.

Ok I got the tank up to about 74. Checked the PH and it is fine. can I put a heater in the little tank? He sits at my desk at work.
