Meet Maelstrom, who has a tumour.

Okay, so, I was to not get any bettas for at least a few more weeks ... but when I saw this poor guy, I knew he needed a forever home.

Maelstrom has some sort of tumour on his side, possibly lymphocystosis, but I'm just not too sure. So if anyone can help, that would be awesome.

I am keeping his water super clean and feeding him a high protein diet, other than that there really isn't anything else one can do at this point except wait and see. These tumours are pretty rare, apparently, and they can spread via water so I'm keeping his equipment seperate and just hoping for the best.

He's otherwise healthy and eating well.

Here's Maelstrom :)

Le tumour ... :/

I think you mean lymphocytosis. But no, that's a blood condition.

It doesn't look like it bothers him any. It looks more like a cyst, you can see his scales aren't covering the bottom of it. It might be recent.

If he's otherwise healthy and the growth is benign, I think it adds some character. Give him a unique look.

I was just reading my betta guide and found something interesting. I think it would interest you. And I'd keep watch for it just in case.
