2.5 gal filtered, he had clamped fin due to my stupidity of putting him back into the tank too fast after a water change too fast and getting stressed but put him on medicine friday that he has to stay in til wednesday and do a 25% water change. He got in the filter yesterday morning and i noticed his fins. I made it to where he cant get back into the crevice but had to leave the filter to help oxygenate and circulate the water a bit. Does Lorenzo get into places he shouldnt?

Bettas do that by nature. Lol my first betta would do all he could to squeeze between the intake of the filter and the tank wall. That's why I like my Fluval Spec. The filter takes water in from the surface and not thru an intake pipe like an HOB filter. Don't worry, wc's and aquarium salt will help. I also use R/O water from my lfs so I feel that is important too.

Ive always had distilled and never had any problems with it but since ive recently learned its too clean and dont trust tap even after dechlorinator im going to slowly mix distilled with conditioned spring and then eventually it will all be spring water. I always have had some sort of cave or hiding spot for my bettas and Mufasa is the only one to prefer hanging out around the filter.

He's also the most curious out of the four, the only one not from walmart, and the only not veiltail I've had.

Interesting. Good call on the distilled water, but yes it is super clean. It's best to get distilled and do what you're doing, mixing it. Keep up with the water changes and be sure to match temp as well. I hadn't before and you could tell it shocked my poor boys so now I make sure to match and warm up my water before doing a water change.

Im hoping to have Mufasa longer than my previous bettas now that im more educated and can deal with problems thrown at him. He's a fighter and if it was any other of my fish they wouldn't have bounced back the way he has. He was hilarious when i floated a gallon jug cap from the distilled water jug actually, he went up bumped it and swam away fast then did it again. i want to get him a pingpong ball or button on a string. Id also like to redo the design on his tank when hes healthy and i can acclimate him to the changes.

Bettas are smart and can even be trained so they love it when there are new decorations or plants to investigate. That's a cute story about Mufasa. I know Lorenzo hates being in his cup now so he always tries to attack the cup when I put it in to scoop him up for his wc's.
