I just realized I just started jumping in answering posts and never introduced myself first! How rude!
I kept a few guppies as a kid, but then moved on to four legged critters (dogs, cats, hedgehog, hermit crabs-ok, they have 6 legs, but hey)...then a friend of mine asked me to watch her Betta, which was in a tiny bowl. It seemed weird to me that a fish could live like that, so while I watched him, I did some research. One thing led to another as I purchased a Betta of my own and started learning more about them. Then at one point I had seven different fish tanks or single specialty tanks (reef tank, Southeast Asian biotope tank), but though these came and went, I always had a Betta. Keeping Bettas was love at first sight and though I have had a number of Bettas over the past 13 yrs, (most living 2-5 yrs) there is still so much I don't know. I am glad to have found this forum with so many knowledgeable folks; it is by far the best forum I have ever belonged to. I look forward to expanding my knowledge so I can provide the most up to date and best care of my Betta(s) as possible. Thanks ahead of time to each of you!
