Gender?

Anyone might be able to help the identify the gender of this little guy? I bought him/her last week when it was marketed at petco as a baby betta. I'm not convinced that I got a baby, but rather maybe just a small female. The dark red fins are new from last week, as well as the spotting on his/her face.

I know it's not the best photo comparison but he/she is definitely bigger and has grown.

Ah great! Even though I was hoping to watch a male grow and develop fin wise, I'm very happy with this little girl. I wanted to start a sorority once we got the money and space (which after a little mishap with petco we basically got a free 10 gallon)!

I'm hoping her coloration develops a little more and continues on with these spots/marbles.

We were also thinking perhaps she's a crowntail, but I've always had a hard time identifying tail types!

Thank you!! I'm proud of her! She's very strong, healthy, and growing up nicely! I named her Hyperion in the case of I didn't know her gender and I figured the name could go both ways :) it's one of the titans "lord of light" and in this case "goddess of light." :)
