Baby Bettas in sorority?

I want to start a sorority for my Bettas and I currently have a baby betta who I think Is a female. If I wait a bit longer to make sure that it's a female, would it be okay to put her in a sorority? If so, would it be best to put her in with other babies, or fully grown females? I'm planning on putting them in a ten gallon tank with six females.

I would wait until s/he's at least 3 months old before putting it into a sorority because sometimes they change genders on you and you don't want to end up with a sorority ganging up on a male or the male killing your girls!

My baby is still pretty young, but I'm planning on starting a sorority with her. If you are positive that she is female, I'd say go for it! Make sure to have lots of hiding places though!

My first baby betta was kept in a breeder box in my sorority tank until she escaped...she did great despite being TINY in comparison to the other fish and is now bigger than some of my other girls! I currently have two more babies that I released into the sorority after a brief quarantine period and they are doing great. Not sure if these are females yet, but hoping they are.

As long as they get enough food and have places to hide they should be fine.

And that's another thing, Baby's need to be feed about 4-5 times a day to grow properly and you'd have to do about 50% changes on the tank every 2-3 days because the baby release growth stunting hormones that can effect all the fish as well as itself.

Great, I definitely will wait a bit longer to see if she is for sure a girl but then, my follow up question would be, should I put her in a sorority with other female babies so that the fully grown ones don't pick on her?

Size doesn't matter when it comes to sororities. Even the smallest girl can be an alpha so ones that are around her size would be better but you can get any size. Attitude is not limited to size haha

Lol, size definitely doesn't matter XD My little girl is still flaring occasionally at the cupped female floating in the tank, whereas the adult in the cup could care less about the baby XD

Yeah but Canis, your "baby" isn't exactly a baby anymore haha

If you got one of the older babies it would work better but most of them are barely out of fry-hood and will need different maintenance than regular girls.
