CT male will not build nest any advice

I have a CT male that will not build a nest. This is my first attempt at breeding, any advise. I have read up a lot on breeding technics on here and other sources. This is the second time i have try to breed this pair. the female shows her bars immediatly after i put them together. He dances around, flares and hangs out under the nest location, but does not seem to be able to build his nest. How Long should this take?

Oh, he's a hit and run'ner. Jokes aside, the time varies for each betta. Just feed lots of live food and provide clean water and the magic SHOULD happen. Conditioning the pair takes days to weeks depending on the fish current state of being. Good luck my friend.

I don't think it matters. Just good amount of food and clean water. Letting them get use to their breeding tank is also a good idea.

Some males won't build a nest until mating starts to happen. For any of mine who aren't the best nest builders I will usually put a smallish piece of bubble wrap under half an IAL leaf.. it helps give them the "idea" of what to do :)

Also if you have another male who is good at bubble nests, place him in the tank first to build the nest, then remove him and place in the male you want to breed. The male you want to breed will use the already made nest with no problem.

update, removed divider, Romeo started building nest as they started to embrace. Still going at it, romeo works the nest and juliet, picks the ones off the bottom. working great as a team, but the nest is small only the outside edges of a storifoam cup. lots of eggs bunched together.

Nice :) It's not that hugely common, but it does happen that some males won't build until the female is released or during breeding :) Just glad they did it! Congrats!
