Quick Question

Will cutting the roots on a plant hurt it? My water wisteria has some really long roots, and every time I do a water change, it comes out of the gravel and is a pain to bury back in. Is it possible to trim the roots so that I can plant it back in easier?

If not, any suggestions as to what I can do? As soon as I get some sand, I'm going to be switching to a NPT, but it might be a while yet still before that happens.

Thanks in advance!

Whenever I get new plants that have long roots, I trim them before planting. I'm not sure if doing it on a regular basis would be detrimental, however...

I've actually started trimming the roots of my Amazon Frog Bit and i have noticed no ill effects. In fact, it's fun to see how fast the roots actually regrow! Plants are use to having their roots eaten or broken by other animals as they burrow or search thru the ground for food. Your plants will be fine.
