He Won't Eat

I just bought a new crown tail betta today, but he isn't eating. I know he hasn't eaten today, and I am still questioning if he has been fed these past few days, since I bought him from Walmart.

Should I be worried?

Oh, and earlier he ate one pellet, but threw it up a little later. And he mostly says at the bottom of the tank.

Spitting out pellets is usually a sign they are too big. Try cutting it in half with your fingernail to see if he can swallow it.

However Betta's normally don't eat when they first come home because they're stressed out. It's normal for them to not eat for the first week to two weeks. Keep offering though until he does eat and take out what he doesn't eat otherwise it will spoil your water.

Oh, ok. My first betta fish didn't do that. He ate and everything. He was only a bit shy at the beginning.

And for the food he just leaves on the surface,I just removed it and fed it to my other betta (the first one).

But will he be ok if he doesn't eat for that amount of time?

Oh, ok. He will still be fine when I change the water when he is still getting used to his new environment right? Sorry, Desmond didn't have these problems and worried when I got him.

Yeah he'll be fine for water changes I'd rather he be in clean, warm water and stressed than be less stressed in dirty, nasty water besides clean water and warmth promote hunger so he'll be hungry soon.

The only thing I would add, I wouldn't take food from the new Bettas tank & feed it to the other Betta. You don't know 100% if he's healthy yet & I'd be concerned if he is sick it could be passed to your other Betta.
