He has some real nice potential -
He is a roundtail/regular PK, which can be changed easily enough in a couple generations by bringing in a really nice HMPK female, but she will need to have to be near perfect 180 spread. If not, then the offspring can bring in another HMPK male with the correct spread to one of the female fry. IF you want HMPK.
He has a really nice dorsal and anal fin - there are some short rays, but with the right girl that can be fixed as well. A decent topline, vents are a little thin, but nice and long.
Color can be improved a little as well.. get rid of the grizzle going on, etc.
With the perfect female you can start a nice line with him.. but will take a few generations to get all the little faults out of him and in the end, it may not be with the time, energy and money trying to do so when having a better male to begin with would be more effective.
He's not a "bad" fish, and is workable if you really want to breed him.
As for the "almost a year" age, that's fine.. they will breed for a few years with no problem :)
