fighting?

Ok, so I've had 2 bettas in a 5 gallon tank, which is separated by a divider. They've been together in this tank for about a year and I've never had a problem, until last night. I changed the water and put the fish in, same as I always do. However, I forgot to put the cover on and one of them jumped to the other side and they fought. I didnt know anything until the next morning when I went to feed them. One of them is hardly touched, he has a few ripped fins but he is doing fine. He was twice the size to begin with. The other one is pretty bad. He is a crowntail and he's missing most of his fins. I have them separated now, in different tanks. Does anyone know if he will survive this? Will his fins grow back?

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to your fish. You can use BettaFix to help prevent infection. Keep a close eye on him and keep his water clean. Hope this helps.I think he can survive if his injuries aren't too bad and I think his fins will grow back but may not be as pretty as they once were.
