Best source for shrimps and burrowing snails and How many?

To complete my Walstad set I need shrimp and snails. I'd rather not go to a petstore because they will be in with fish and I know they have bad husbandry habits. I have 20 long. I expect to have 16 females. So please post some links and how many to buy. I am thinking one snail would probably do it since they can breed.

I ordered malaysian trumpet snails off eBay; used top seller from USA, to assure freshness and health. I have a sand bed and I ordered min 24 for my 6gal long tank. Sounds like a lot but I hardly see them. Only have a few babies; they tend to self regulate as long as water params are good and there's not too much excess food/mulm. They clean algae of all sorts. They eat leftover food and fish waste, and my IAL after they start to decompose. They also keep my sand bed aerated. Depending on type of snail and purpose would determine how many. Think general rule is 1-5 per gal though.

They are supposed to do clean up and burp the soil. That is what I am after.

I received my healthiest and darkest RCS from Matt at Shrimp Central. I would buy 40 which would be $40 + $8 shipping. Email him with what you're doing and he'll help you.

If I wanted to set some aside some shrimp to breed in a separate tank (still putting some in the sorrority). Does anyone know how big the tank has to be for the shrimp?

On another forum, people talk about breeding successfully in 1-2.5 gallons. Mine breed in a 5 gallon with my Betta, Si, in residence. I have lots and lots of floating moss and plants for the babies to hide.
