No more bubbles nests or lack of them

Hey guys,

My betta used to make HUGE nests, all the time. I haven't changes anything in his tank and all levels are normal. Is there anything else that could be effecting his attitude or making him not want to make a nest. I did an experiment last week by putting a mirror up up to his tank once a day to make him flare and he started to make very small, quarter size, nests after that.

is it lack of a territory challenge that his causing him to not mark his territory with a nest?

hes just probably not ready to mate.

its not lack of teritory challenge because mine does this all the time, he goes a couple of days without making a nest then he makes a huge one

It may be due to age if it's an older betta. My older ones don't blow bubbles much anymore.

I dont think it is age. I have only had him for 3 months or so and I assume he couldnt have been much older than 6 months to a year when i got him. He has started to blow a few small bubble nests in the past few days, but nothing in comparison to the nests he used to blow. I guess hes fine.

As long as he's active and eating good he should be fine. I have a couple of bettas that used to blow bubblenests when I first got them, then they stopped making them.
