Fairly certain my betta has fin melt. Friend watched him when we were gone on vacation, I came home to him losing color and starting to get sick.
- Color loss
- Back tail has "melted"
- clamped fins
- Rusty spots by gills
- Not as active
- Attempts to eat, but will spit the food back up.
What are the prescribed treatments recommended?
- 3 gallon
- weekly water changes (25%)
- 3 live plants
My worry more than anything is his eating habits. He acts hungry, grabs the pellet, but then spits it back up within 2 minutes or so. I can think he ate the 2 pellets, walk away, and return to find them floating again. He still swims around, flares at mirrors, and isn't acting deathly, but he's not keeping much down.
I bought flakes, and he doesn't even register they're food. Blood worms haven't tempted him either. I don't know what to do to make him keep food down...
