So if I used 1 gallon of water, I could use 1/3 of a gallon of vinegar?

Okay i just did a google search and it says to do 50/50 mix of water and vinegar.

Oh, great! :) Thank you for looking that up. :) I've still got another week before I get the heater so I have time to work on cleaning the tank. BTW its a plastic tank. Will the vinegar be ok on plastic?

If you're going to soak your tank (fill it up) you'll go through a lot of vinegar. Why not put a quart or less of water into the tank and add about 1/2 +/- cup of vinegar in the bottom of the tank and scrub it out? Then rinse and rinse again until the smell is gone. It'll do a good job. If you need to repeat the procedure a second time.

Lol. Im glad I could help. I have a dumb question too,that i dont really see an answer for. Im wondering if it matters if i get male or female corys or both. Or if one could even tell. I just dunno...lol...

My book says that they will breed readily in an aquarium so I don't know. Maybe someone else can tell you more.
