Weather is getting hot here :(

It's getting hotter and hotter everyday.

Unplugged everything in aquarium that can produce heat.

Today it was 41 Celcius.

I'm worried about my bettas, I cant afford AC and I cant put little fans top of every tank :(

will it hurt my fishes?

water is at 32 Celcius right now :S

Where do you live? I live in Florida where it is hot right now. Daily high's in Oviedo usually are around 90-95 degrees for most of the three months of summer. I would open up the tanks if their water temperature is above 85 degrees. Of course put a piece of tightly saran wrap with holes in them. If possible can you go to PetSmart or another pet store and ask what they have for this type of situation?

If you have access to plastic craft mesh you could put that on top of you tanks to let them air out but keep your fish from jumping. It get hot in Thailand too so they probably will be ok.

Air pumps are said to help. They increase evaporation which in turn cools the water. You might have to top it off, though :)

Also, I have heard of people putting ice-cubes in zip-lock bags and letting them sit in the aquarium. The ice melts in the bag, so it only cools the water a bit instead of a ton like ice in a glass of water would.

Make sure whatever you do, you do gradually, because you don't want to shock the fish.

Good luck!

I also would do more water changes since it more chance for infections with the warmer water.
