"Fish get motion sickness, and then you have to clean the bacteria out of the water."
I was just told this by a pet store worker, and I'm curious about what she meant. I know better than jostling a fish bag, but I wonder what bacteria happens when they get 'motion sickness'? And how would you clean bacteria out, other than a water change, which doesn't seem like a good idea when acclimating a new fish?
Personally NEVER heard such a thing. It is possible that when stressed fish can excrete extra slime coat, which might make their bag water cloudy. But that's solved as soon as they're acclimated to their new home.
Haha that's the weirdest fish advice I've ever heard from an employee. It rivals the time that an employee at petsmart told me to go to Lowe's (next door to the petsmart) and buy some thing that's like an ear of corn and hang it over the tank because they like to eat it. ????
