Meet my new Walmart Rescue Boy!

My crappy cell phone pictures really don't do him justice, he is really a beautiful orange color, just a little dull from the stress of being in his cup. He is having some fin rot issues and is possibly a fin nipper, but I'm hoping clean water and stress coat will do him a world of good! Please help me with names, and suggestions for his health! He is acclimating in his temporary 1.5 gallon Critter Keeper now. See my previous thread about him here:

Cute! I'm glad you got him. I desperately want an orange or yellow betta. He's lucky to have been rescued by a caring owner like yourself. I'm sure any stress/fin rot issues will be cleared up with some clean water and TLC.

Home sweet home (for now).

Since it's only temporary, I'm experimenting with a cute Western-type theme. He has a covered wagon to hide in and a little friend! I read online that it's ok to put plastic toys in the tank as long as they are sterilized and not painted. Is that correct?

Exploring his new home!

He's so pretty; I absolutely adore veiltails! ^-^ I'm so glad someone as caring as you rescued him. His coloring kind of reminds me of rust, so might I suggest Rusty for a name?

Thank you all! I think he's cute too. His body is streaky right now, but I think after he settles in and gets destressed he may become a brighter and more solid orange. He is a very calm fish, too. I love seeing the difference in their personalities. My other boy flares at everything: jewelry, my hand, new decorations and plants in his tank. This new guy is as calm as can be!

I know what you mean about personalities ^-^ My old betta flared at everything, too, but my new lil' guy is rather shy. He'll swim up to the glass to get a good look at you, but if you go near the tank, he'll back away.

Sorry but Rusty is taken by me.
I would call him Navel which is a type of orange.
