Starting the Sorority Again

My previous sorority consisted if 8 girls and they all died in 3 days due to a nasty bacterial infection. Thankfully, it didn't spread to the other fish. I made sure everything was clean and I bought two girls today. I'm going to buy the other two tomorrow that I had to leave at my lfs. The other girls are light brown and blue, then there's a reddish black and blue one.

Here's the first girl (unnamed, but going with Japanese names/goddesses)

And here's Amaterasu (who is a sun goddess)

I'll post pictures of the two other girls tomorrow.

CUTE!!!!! I love the first girl! Those spots on her anal fin are to die for! I can't wait to see her colored up!!!!

Oh and just be careful, if you do have Myco's then you can't just get rid of it. You have to scrap EVERYTHING and start again :/ I hope, for their sake and yours! That it wasn't though!

Since no other fish was infected, I don't think it was. I think it was just a bad bacterial infection that stayed with the bettas.

Anyways, I'm QTing them both in a 2.5g and they each have their own side. I have two other separate kritter keepers that the other wo are going to go into. I'll post pictures of them too. They're gorgeous and they should get along since they were all in the same tank originally and they've been at my lfs for 2 weeks. I love the traditional look that they've got going. They're gorgeous. It's gonna be hard to tell the first girl from the other two. I'll have to go by the look of their fins! lol

Also, when I got home I had to find my divider for the 2.5, so I put the girls in the tank together. They were literally swimming around together and not flaring or stalking. They're so cute!

Shouldn't you QT them separately? The first one looks like she has that stress striping. Hope that changed for her. They are beautiful. Good luck.

All of them had stress stripes. They were getting beat up by swordtails. The first girl doesn't have stress stripes anymore and the cambodian obviously improved quickly. Also, since they were all in the same tank, I don't think that the first two have to be quarantined separately. They're doing fine. I'm just gonna feed them and make sure that they feel comfortable. I'm giving them plenty of plants and hiding places.

Cool, even if they were in the same tank together if they are separated for even a day they can become much more aggressive, so just keep that in mind

Alrighty! :D

Now, the blue/red VT [first girl] I named Izanami, which is the goddess of death. lol I named the lighter colored blue/red CT [new girl I bought today] Uzume, which is the goddess of dawn.

My boyfriend loves the fish, but hates the names because he can't pronounce them. I die laughing as he throws a fit and just ... xD

Good luck with your sorority! Mine died out too because of columnaris. :\ But life goes on. Your first female is really pretty. And your second one reminds me of a rainbow! lol
