Warning Calgary water for fish could be dangerous

Calgary has suffered a terrible flood. The water treatment plant is under siege from bacteria parasites, virus, oil and anti freeze from cars, sludge of all kinds, dead animals. AHS confirms. The water is technically safe to drink thanks to low minimal standards imo. The mayor himself just said to make it safe the city was using disinfecting agents and lots of them. Chloromine is likely the weapon of choice. It is a super strong ammonia agent. Look it up if you want. Does not evaporate. Not all dechlor products remove it. Can be lethal to fish. Im not drinking the tap anymore. My fish on rainwater. Now I wonder if friends problems are all this. I changed water last night...checking my fish next.

Boiling would help with pathogens but it won't remove any toxins like antifreeze or chloramines. We has a big chloramine dose this spring in our water and I just doubled up on water conditioner (make sure it removes chloramine).

Prime is good. Double it up or use normal strength plus stresscoat..but. there are things in there that Prime cant kill imo. I think ro water from the fish store or grocery maybe. Been a big run on water here at stores. I have a full rain barrel so I have 50g to start but worried what I put in my tanks last night now. Very worried.

My fish, ADF, and my apple snails are all doing fine still since my water change. How much does RO water cost? What stores carry it?

Lol, been drinking a load of water. So if anything's bad in it, I'll probably feel it sometime soon.
