So I'm curious if anyone thinks that a single white scale on Tina's side could be columnaris? She's been stressed as heck from this stupid flood water, and it would sure be the sort of ******* bacteria that would come in with poisoned water and cling to her.

Anywho, its tiny, very small, impossible to capture with my cheap crappy camera. But I'm terrified that if I don't start trying to kill it now, then it'll be impossible to beat once it becomes a lesion, or something worse. I have Seachem Kanaplex, is that a gram negative medication? And when I am told that columnaris hates aquarium salt, you do mean freshwater aquarium salt and not epsom salt, correct?

XxxXnoodleXxxX - the bacteria that causes Columnaris is often present in aquariums. I wouldn't worry about a single discolored scale. If you're very concerned though, you could lower the water temp slightly to about 76 or 77F. Also you could do a partial water change using some bottled water. Look for one that says something like "minerals added for flavor."

The Calgary water quality is back up to standard. It was really yucky for several days. We didn't do any water changes for almost a week. My wifes co worker from High River just got to see their house for the first time. A total disaster I feel sorry for them.

Glad to hear that about the water. Poor High River. I can't even imagine.
